Update

 Yesterday (April 7th), I was on the boards and refreshed to find that my account had been frozen. I don't have a screenshot of the original freeze statement, but I did copy and paste it into my ticket. 

"This account has been FROZEN for the following reason:

This account was found to be one of multiple same-owner accounts being used to vote in the beauty contest.

If you think the above reason was applied to you by mistake, please contact our support staff by clicking here. Don't forget to include your USERNAME and explain why you think your account should not have been frozen. If you DID break the rules, please do not contact us again. Your account will NOT be unfrozen and you will not get your Neopet or items returned. But, you are welcome to create a new account, as long as you follow the rules.

Remember to read our Terms of Use thoroughly."

The freeze page gives you the option to log into another account, but I found that ALL of my accounts had been frozen.

The reason for the freeze is now changed, but it turns out she didn't change it for all accounts, so I was actually able to get a screenshot of the original notice. 

Naturally, I sent in a ticket to dispute/appeal the freeze. I included a text version of the above image (quoted above) and the following. 

I did not do this, or if I did, it was entirely unintentional. I hardly ever vote in the BC at all so I honestly don't know when this would have happened. Respectfully, I can't help but feel that the true reason for my freeze was that I was speaking out about transphobia, but either way I don't believe my accounts should be frozen. I had switched to my account viiiiirus for 24 hours during my recent silence but I don't think I went on the BC page at all and if I did, I must have forgotten I wasn't on my main. Thank you for reading and I hope to see the freeze removed soon.

As a response, I was informed that Alice had changed the reason for the freeze.

I know I've been posting things lately that are critical of TNT and that Alice wouldn't like, but couldn't think of anything I'd said that actually broke rules, much less to the extent that would warrant a freeze of all of my accounts.

Honestly this confused me even more. I was expecting one of the posts where I was arguing with transphobes but I guess she couldn't find anything that broke the rules there so she went with this instead.I couldn't figure out how this broke the rules; it's a joke that was directly quoted from another board that no one took issue with as far as I'm aware. 

I'm sorry, could I get clarification on what's wrong here? I was making a joke based on an older post (screenshot attached). I see no reason this would warrant not just a warning, but a freezing of all of my accounts. I didn't take a screenshot of the post of mine you've quoted, but there was another part to it which you excluded: me saying it was quoting another post. 

If this was the post that got me frozen, as you've stated, it doesn't make sense to me. I don't understand why the reason for my freeze has changed when neither reason should warrant all my accounts getting frozen. I've been giving warnings for more extreme (though still minor) offenses. Surely, making posts that a tnt member dislikes (but don't break rules) isn't illegal.

Her reply was that it doesn't matter if it's a quote, that it's what got me frozen. She also stated that the reason for the change in cause for the freeze was a misclick. Knowing now that the side accounts still have the former reason, it seems like each one is handled separately. I find it hard to believe that she misclicked five separate times, but I have already enough to complain about without making accusations or theories.

The initial reason was a mistake since it is right next to Bad Post in the pull down, we apologize for that confusion, however this post did cause your account to be frozen whether you were quoting another board or not, even as a joke.

Would it be petty to complain that she keeps putting HI in all caps (presumably on accident) and that she didn't capitalize "we"? Either way, this does not explain anything.

First, impersonating a TNT staff member or relative of a TNT staff member.

 

And second discussing nudity on Neopets which is a family friendly site in relation to a staff member which would be considered harassment of that staff member.

I don't know how to say it any other way than it sounds like Alice got personally offended that there's a joke using her name that includes the word naked. I wasn't "discussing nudity" and while I was "impersonating a relative of a TNT staff member," it was an obvious joke. I find it hard to believe the user who originally said "BE NICE TO ALICE, SHE IS MY MOM" got all of their accounts frozen over it. I'd completely understand a warning. Even a temp silence wouldn't be absurd. But freezing not just my main, but ALL of my accounts is ridiculous and clearly targeted. 

This time, I asked to get the opinion of another TNT member. It's understandable that she'd have bias since the post mentioned her, but I do not think this was deserved at all. And I think we all know this wasn't the only reason I was frozen; I think it's just the only one she could find that would at all suffice.

Understood. Then may I ask if the user I originally quoted faced the same consequences? I can't help but feel this is quite an extreme reaction to an innocuous post. A warning should have sufficed. If this is a manner of personal bias, that's entirely reasonable, but I'd like to request that my ticket be reviewed by another person to offer a more unbiased perspective. 

Permanently freezing all of my accounts over this makes zero sense to me. I'd appreciate an explanation on why that was the decision, and again, a third party opinion would be greatly helpful to me here.

Alice, if you're reading this, please be reasonable. I haven't violated site rule in any way that is at all proportionate to every single one of my accounts being frozen. 

I don't know if I'll actually come back to the site. I'd like to, but it's getting harder and harder to exist there. But I'm not going to stop fighting the freeze until I'm given a decent reason or it's gone. I'm honestly expecting that I'll get unfrozen fairly quickly, but we'll see. This entire situation is absurd. Meanwhile people are being openly transphobic and that's apparently fine??

yeah no I'm not typing a caption for that, it's quite transphobic though
I don't think I want to be on a website where I'm permanently kicked off for making a joke but people can make posts like these with zero repercussions. I'm not going to let them kick me off for this though if I can at all help it. I love this site. Genuinely. I just want it to be a safe space for trans people. I don't want mods who punish trans people for "harassing" transphobes but look the other way when trans people are actually harassed by the transphobes.
